A Night At The Emmy's

Arabella was invited to the annual dance awards ceremony which is a huge deal, especially given she's only five. She didn't know what she had been nominated for until her name was called. She had been selected in the category of "Practice Makes Perfect." She didn't win the trophy, but was still awarded a medal for her nomination. I am so proud of her and look forward to the upcoming season of dance.

June 8th Arabella had her second dance recital. She did fabulous and we couldn't be more proud of her.

Dance BBQ

We are super proud of Arabella. She has made a lot of progress this year in dance. It has been perfect for her OCD and ability to remember everything. {Seriously she has the brain of an elephant. She remembers things you wouldn't think she would have been old enough to remember.} 

Tonight The Studio held their BBQ at a local park which has an outdoor stage. It gives the kiddos practice on a stage and in front of an audience without a lot of pressure. I must say it was fun, and I was surprised Bubba did as well as he did considering I forced him to stay in the stroller which he has officially outgrown (holy cow, run on sentence much?).

I am super proud of her for this award. She received a special Tap Dance award and only 6 were awarded to the entire studio, which consists of over 200 students. Way to go Baby Girl!!!

First Day of Dance

A new season is here and tonight was Arabella's first class of the year. She was really excited for class and hadn't stop asking to wear her new dance shoes since we bought them last week. Finally this evening she was able to strap on her new toys.

She is taking ballet & tap this year. Her class is quite different than last year. Mommy isn't allowed in there. She didn't seem to mind and Ms. Kim said she did fabulous; she was very proud of her. It's going to take some planning on my part to get our routine down for dance day. I have to figure out how to juggle Evan's nap time, making sure we have food in the fridge to eat when we come home and packing snacks and entertainment for Evan while we wait for Sissy.

I can honestly say, juggling things around is worth it to see the amazing smile on her face that appeared today. She was just so happy. I pray that she continues to enjoy this art and wishes to continue to learn and grow.
