Evan Update

I feel so behind with Evan. Last night I was getting him ready for bed, and as he was sitting up on the changing table it dawned on me just how big he is getting. He just looked so tall sitting there. Then I realized that I hadn't weighed or measured him since his last doctors appointment. He's now 34 inches tall, but sitting at 25 pounds. Tall and skinny. He also has 16 teeth and now we're just awaiting some molars. Unfortunately I think they're on there way by the way he's been chewing on his fingers. Just another fun time in the Sharp House.

A New Do and Nursing Pictures

This weekend is a family wedding. It also happens to coincide with hair cut time. Both boys were getting shaggy so we headed off to the barber shop. Being that it's summer, and it's just hair, we decided to give Evan his first buzz. :) My baby went into the barber shop a little boy and came out a little man. He looks so different. It's going to take some time to get used to, as well as a hat (fat chance) and some sunblock to keep his blond head from getting burned. Isn't he just a doll?

{Before you click read more, I want to warn you that you will see pictures of Evan nursing. There's no cleavage showing, but I still wanted to let you know what you would see.}

Why Can't She Be Cute All The Time?

Before nap time Arabella "played" with me and let me take some okay photos using the light from the sliding door. Shortly after these pictures were taken we put the kids down for a nap. Suffice to say neither were ready to sleep.

Probably an hour after they were put down I hear bizarre singing from Arabella's room. I knew she was up to something. I open the door and she's hiding under her comforter. I give her a warning and she slowly emerges...crayon in hand. I flip the light on and oh my word, I turned around and walked out of the room to find Adam. I was on the edge.

Our dear daughter decided to color ALL OVER HER BED and a few marks on the wall. The head board, the side rails, the safety rail, her PILLOW, her monkey show and of course...on Tad. I was livid. So I sent Adam after a magic eraser and we proceeded to clean off all of the markings we could find.

After that I sternly told her it was nap time, if I heard another peep she was getting a spanking. And that was that. She took a nice long nap. Unfortunately, she still woke up crabby. :/ We fought over her snack. She wanted a smoothie, I pulled some smoothie sticks out of the freezer and began to unthaw them. She had a melt down while it was unthawing. Then because it wasn't fully thawed she "couldn't do it," aka, she couldn't get anything up the straw. Over and over and over..."Mommy fix it." The girl had no patience. Finally I warmed it enough, while fixing dinner, that she was fully satisfied.

I just want to know why she can't be as cute and funny as she was for her pictures??? [Don't answer that...I already know the answer. :) ]

Don't Know Where She Got It...

Tonight while we were out for our walk it was very cloudy. Eventually the sun peaked out and there were gorgeous fluffy orange clouds in the distance. There were white "polka dot" clouds overhead as she pointed them out to me. In between the orange clouds and polka dot clouds were white fluffy clouds.

We were nearly home when Arabella looked up and pointed to the white fluffy clouds and said "Look, it's heaven." I nearly started bawling on the spot. Where did she get that from? I know we've mentioned heaven before, but it's not like it's an every day occurrence. It made my heart very happy to hear those words coming out of her mouth. I'm also very happy that for whatever reason I decided to make both kids face me on tonight's walk and I was able to see her face light up as she pointed out heaven to me. *warm fuzzies*

Leggin's

Today, after her nap, Arabella decided to re-dress herself. She pulled off her shorts and pulled on a pair of Baby Legs and her tutu. The cute part about it is that she calls them "leggin's" but pronounces it "leg is."  One day she'll ask me why I let her do it and I'll just giggle and say because I could. And I'm hoping that one day in the very near future she learns that it's not always smart to wear leggings out of the house when it's 90+ degrees out there.

Brown Bear

Here's a video I promised a while back of Arabella "reading" Brown Bear, Brown Bear. It's one of her favorite books to read before going to bed. She's such a cutie. Well I'm her Mommy, what else would you expect from me? LOL.
