Birthday Bash

We spent several hours celebrating the big 4 and 5 at Amazing Play with our family and friends. Lots of climbing, sliding, and bouncing. Definitely no shortage of cake and pizza.

Snow Day

We finally had our first significant snow fall for the season and the kids had to go play in it. It was bitter cold so we didn't stay out too long and my camera didn't like the cold either. We played with the snow, in the snow and sled on top of the snow in the middle of the street as anywhere else, you'd just sink. They made some memories for certain.

4th Birthday Celebration

We came home to celebrate with presents and cake and I think he was more than pleased with the gifts.

4th Birthday Shopping and Lunch

On Evan's Birthday (2.2.13) we followed tradition and went to the toy store. For what seems like forever, he has been talking about getting an Umicar for his birthday. Randomly he would bring it up. So apparently he was dead set on finding and buying and Umicar. We walked through aisles of toys and no matter what we showed him he wanted an Umicar. Finally I asked an associate for help finding one and was pointed in the right direction. And just like that he was ready to leave the store, Umicar, Millie, Geo and Bot in hand.

For his lunch, he chose Applebees...and yes the new Umicar had to attend as well.

The employees gathered to sing happy birthday and Evan quickly dove under the table, started screeching "STOP SINGING" and when they left I pulled him up and he was crying. I guess he isn't a big fan of being the center of attention.

5th Birthday Celebration

As our tradition continues, Arabella chose Nicky's for her birthday lunch on New Year's Eve.

We then returned home to celebrate with presents and cake. This year she received new pj's and fingernail polish. She was extremely pleased with her new collection of polish.

I'm late and playing catch up yet again...

Back on Arabella's Birthday (12.31.13) we made our annual trip to the toy store so she could pick her gift out. This year, Ariel was the big winner.

It's amazing to see how much the kids have grown this past year. They have both grown in size, educationally as well as emotionally.

Santa left wooden toy projects for them as well as a lot of games for family game night!

They stopped for two seconds to pose with Daddy.

New hats all around! I had Sissy's hat made by a local crafter (Wise Owl Creations). And Bubba received a reversible "Enja Turtle" hat.

She wasn't thrilled about a box of Ziploc bags...until Daddy opened the box for her.

He's in love with his new talking Mike toy.

At the end of the morning the kid were thrilled with what they received, but the looks on their faces as they open each gift is what I will remember most. Emotionally excited, honestly thrilled, overjoyed, they just melted my heart. It's the moments we spend together that matter more than any of the gifts they found under the tree.
