Birthday Party 2.5

We decided that after Arabella's first birthday we would celebrate during warmer weather. So on her birthday she got a cupcake and a couple of presents. And we planned her actual birthday party for the 21st of May. It turned out to be a gorgeous day, despite being forecasted full of thunderstorms. We had more people there than I thought would show up, and everything went great. The kids had a great time, the adults had a great time, and most importantly Arabella felt like a princess. She even had the crown to prove it. ;)

Allow me to take you through our afternoon.
The theme of choice was Dora. I baked 4 dozen evil yummy cupcakes, and then poorly decorated them. Each kid received a goodie bag that included a Dora card game, lip whistle, harmonica, bubbles, and four glow in the dark bracelets.
Our friends and family were overwhelmingly generous and she L.O.V.E.S every gift she received.

My parents weren't able to attend, but in their defense my Mom had just gone through major surgery a few days prior. She did, however, take the time to call Arabella during the festivities and sing Happy Birthday to her on the speaker phone. I wish you could have seen some of the faces she was making. I didn't snap the camera enough to capture them all. It was adorable and she loved hearing from Grandma.

As you can guess from her expression she was in awe of Aunt Amy's dresses.

I'm not sure if this is her absolute favorite gift yet, but I'm just waiting for the batteries (or whatever makes it tick) in this singing Minnie Mouse card to die. She plays it over and over and over. She even memorized the words, rather quickly, and sings along with Minnie. Thanks for that one Deryl!

I'm pretty sure she's busted into every package she received. We've even played golf in the house, thanks Aunt Erika. And a great big thank you to Molly & Will for providing more crayons and her first set of markers. I don't want to leave anyone out, so thank you to everyone for all of the gifts and clothing. You made Arabella's day complete just by being there.
