Well it was another fun night in the Sharp house. Arabella decided that sleep was not on the schedule, but constant feeding was. We put her down at nine as usual and by ten-thirty she was back up whining. She had not only fed, but was given an extra couple of ounces from a bottle. So back up we were feeding again. Then at eleven-thirty she was back down again. She continued to whine until midnight. Adam was up, changed her, and brought her to me to eat yet again. After that feeding we dosed off in bed. Around two I asked Adam to grab her from me and put her back in her own bed. Three o'clock rolls around and she wants to be fed again. So Adam grabs her, changes her and gives her back to me for more food. After this round we all fell back asleep, all three of us, in one bed. The next thing I know I am rolling to look at Adam's alarm clock. Six forty-five am?! Adam normally leaves befor then. I rub his shoulder and in my dazed stooper state "Your alarm clock!" He shot up out of bed, apparently the alarm had gone off and instead of snoozing it as usual, he shut it off. I had slept right through the alarm. He called his boss and crawled back in bed with us. Bella woke back up and decided she was hungry again. Finally by the time Adam was ready to leave for work, around eight-thirty, he was able to take Arabella from me and put her back in her bed. Then at ten-thirty we started all over again, changing and feeding. This kid is killing me. We were getting used to the ability to sleep for 5 to 6 hours at a time. Now we are back to wondering what is wrong, did we forget something, does she not feel good? My last, and most likely, theory is that she is going through another growth spurt. Yay us! She's already over 13 pounds and in 3-6 month clothes. She can barely fit some of the 0-3 month clothes. Seriously, a two and half month old wearing 3-6 month clothes? Apparently somewhere, in some universe, she is getting the required sleep to continue growing. And I can definitely say when she wakes up, she is not the happiest baby in the world. But we do find those peaceful moments, though few and far between, and it just makes us love her more than anything else. One smile or grin and you forget just how little sleep you had. She has also started screaming in her sleep. They are the "bad dream" screams, and by the time we make it to her she's peacefully sleeping. It still begs the question, what can a baby be dreaming about?
