Shroom Fest & Bouncy Bella

Today we took Arabella to her first Mushroom Festival in Richmond. The weather was just perfect for it: overcast, light breeze, not too hot, not too cold. It was a beautiful day. We got there just in time to enjoy the parade with her cousin Brooklyn, Aunt Erika, Grandma, Jessica, Jeremy and Anna.

We got to see Lacey Fitzgerald, the new Miss Missouri. She had this cute tiny puppy on her lap and it was wearing a doggy sweater that looked like a Morel (mushroom for those who don't know).

Bella didn't care much for the parade as the bands, sirens, and race cars hurt her ears. She cried several times even though we tried to protect her ears. She wasn't quite sure what to make of the Chinese Dancing Dragon. Brooklyn on the other hand was scared to death of it.

Of course we had to get hungry in a place where there are no seats, and it's a two mile trek back to the car. So I happily plopped my hiney on the sidewalk and leaned up against a building to nurse her. I had the stroller on one side of me and Adam on the other. We got some weird stares and what are you doing looks, but she did just fine, until the sirens went off. After the parade we wandered around and luckily I was able to get Bella to take a 45 minute nap in the sling. But of course the minute we took her out of the sling it was time to scream again.

Once we got home Bella wanted to play in her bouncer again. It is truly a favorite of hers, especially because Daddy plays with her. He says "bouncy, bouncy, bouncy" and that just gets her so excited she starts jumping. We caught some cute videos of her playing in the bouncer tonight. Let's hope she can wear herself out enough tonight that she'll just crash after her bath. *fingers crossed*

By the way, Bella just totally gave me a purple nurple and I screamed like a little school girl who got her hair pulled at recess by the little boy she secretly has a crush on. *Mommy crying now*
